The Yak bases are some of our best-selling bases and it's no wonder!

They are really good for allergy sufferers or sensitive people, as they do not contain lanolin, which is often something our body reacts to. Our Yak/silk bases are super good for summer blouses or shawls and they have a fantastic drape/heaviness. however, this also means that we recommend that you knit these yarns approx. 3 - 5 cm shorter than you want them, as they often give a little in length.

If you are in doubt as to whether you can tolerate it, make a knitting test and wear it on your body and see how you react. Under the various bases you can read which category they fall into on our AKW scale.
